The 27th chapter of the book of Jeremiah is a record of the weeping prophet’s message to the inhabitants of Jerusalem to trust in the Almighty God. He is instructed by God to wear a wooden yoke which was symbolic of God’s punishment placed upon the rebellious nation in the form of the 70-year captivity.
