PONDER

What you “THINK” and what you “KNOW”are two different things…think about it .  We like to let people know what we know but seldom do we let people know what we think, maybe that is wisdom being put to the test, some of out greatest inventions started with someone just “thinking” and keeping his ideas to himself not letting others know about it.  Bible tells us we can know about our salvation and were we will spend eternity,  don’t go to bed thinking were you might spend eternity but go to bed knowing.

Watching a movie this past week about the british and the early settlers and remember their leaders telling the infantrymen to “STAND FAST” “HOLD FAST” “STEADY STEADY” FIRE’,  Those men stood their ground until the command was given to “fire”.  Though out the Bible we read on many ocasion to “stand fast in the faith 1 Cor 16:13, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel Gal 5: 1-3,  Phil 4: 1-3  stand fast in the lord, and my favorite  Heb 4:13 let us hold fast our profession. Nemo me impune lacessit: To Whom Does Vengeance Belong?

The phrase “Nemo me impune lacessit” is a Latin phrase that can be translated “No one (or nobody) harms me without impunity (or revenge).”  It can be found in Edgar Allan Poe’s tale of “The Cask of Amontillado” in which Montresor takes revenge against Fortunato who had caused him a thousand injuries as well as “ventured upon insult.”  This revenge manifests itself in Montresor trapping Fortunato in the catacombs of the Montresor family by bricking him into one of the walls.
