We Can Prove Satan Wrong

In 1936, the Olympic Games were held in Berlin, Germany. As many of us know, Adolf Hitler was in control at thatjesse-owens time, and most of us are aware of Hitler’s view regarding certain races. He believed that the “Aryan” race as he called it was superior to all other races. However, a certain man would prove him wrong.

You see, an African American man by the name of Jesse Owens was competing in the Olympics that year. You can imagine Hitler’s surprise when Mr. Owens won not one but four gold medals in various track competitions. Mr. Owens helped to show that race has little to do with ability as long as one is willing to do his best.

Along these same lines, Satan tries to say that none of us can succeed in obeying God. In Job 1:10-11, Satan tells God that Job is only obeying God due to the fact that God has blessed him. Satan further says that if God were to take all of that away, Job would curse God to His face. It would be safe to say that Satan would say the same about us.

However, we can prove Satan wrong. If we obey God’s word, we can show that we love God (John 14:15). If we do our best to live a faithful Christian life, God has promised that we will win our crown of life (Rev. 2:10). We can show Satan that despite the fact that human nature often is to live an ungodly and sinful life, we can rise above it and be pleasing to God.
