Every Member is Important

Can you imagine a human body that did not have a heart?  A brain?   A head?  Eyes?  We would definitely say that such a body would be incomplete and would be in need of that missing part.

Paul illustrated this point in I Corinthians 12 when comparing the human body to our Lord’s body, the church.  He stressed how just as every member of the body is necessary for it to function properly, so is the case with members of the church.  Each and every one of us is important to the cause of Christ, and even though we may be different, we each can serve a purpose in spreading the gospel.

Here at Dale Ridge, we have so many different activities and ministries in which to take part (i.e.  Kid’s Day, VBS, helping stock the pantry, teaching Bible class, Ladies’ Day, helping with our new library, being a part of the visitation, tract, or correspondence ministry teams, partaking in the visitation program, taking part in the quilting group, helping plan various activities for various age groups, etc. – the list just goes on and on).  Everyone can make a difference in his or her own special way.

By working together as God would have us to do, we can help make the Lord’s church the light of the world, the city that is set on a hill (Matthew 5:14).  May we do what we can to let our light shine before men, so that we may glorify our Father which is in Heaven (Matthew 5:16).
