Daily Bible Reading for 2010
We have challenged each other here at Dale Ridge to read our Bibles this year. There are numerous ways to do this systematically and we simply suggest that you find one that works for you and set a goal to read you Bible this year.
What does a goal look like?
A goal has a definitive action and a deadline. A goal to read through your Bible this year needs to look something like this:
“I will read the entire New Testament by December 31, 2010.”
Or
“I will read the entire Bible using the Daily Reading Schedule updated Daily on http://daleridgechurchofchrist.net.” (The date is implicit by sticking to a schedule.)
Speaking of the Daily Bible Reading Schedule that is listed here on the website, while the one that has always been there in the right column of this website will continue as usual, we’ll be scheduling a post each weekday containing a NT chapter with a brief outline. With this format we can slow down the reading intensity and reflect on what the chapter says. There will even be a few questions about the text to add dimension to the reading.
Join us in this effort and feel free to comment about the reading at the bottom of each daily post.
Not sold on the importance of this effort? Here are five reasons to read your Bible
Here’s what you’ve missed so far:
Week 1 – Jan 4-8, 2010
- Mark 5 – Legion, A Blood Problem and a Grieving Father
- Mark 4 – Sowing Seeds and Calming the Seas
- Mark 3 – Jesus Chooses the Twelve
- Mark 2 – Jesus Works on the Sabbath
- Mark 1 – Jesus’ Ministry Begins
