Mark continues the fast paced overview of Jesus’ ministry. Of interest in this chapter is the anger among the Pharisees and Scribes. Each event recorded here shows Jesus being questioned about his actions.

v1-12. Jesus heals a paralytic. This is a typical account in the style of Mark where faith was required before the miracle occurred. Matthew 9:2-8 Luke 5:18-26

v13-17. Matthew is called. Jesus eats with the Publicans. Publicans were tax collectors, not a very well like crowd of people.

v18-22. Fasting is questioned by John’s followers. Matthew 9:14-17 Luke 5:33-38

v23-27. Jesus and his disciples collect corn on the Sabbath. Matthew 12:1-8 Luke 6:1-5
