The story of Legion is one of two places recorded where Jesus was asked to leave. He also makes an exception to His usual request of having one he heals remain silent. Chapter 5 is typical of Mark’s style of recounting a story during the recounting of a story. In this case the story about the woman with a blood disease was told in the middle of Jesus going to raise the daughter of Jairus from the dead.
v1-20. Legion or The Demons at Gerasa. Matthew 8:23-27 Luke 8:26-37
v21-43. Jairus daughter raised from the dead. Luke 8:40-56
v25-34. The woman with the 12 year blood issue.

Below are some questions to provoke thought about your reading. Use the comments area to add your own thoughts or questions about today’s text.
- Why do you suppose the demons ran to worship Jesus in verse 6?
- Why was Jesus asked to leave the area?
- Why did Jesus tell this man to tell all he knew about what happened but told the family of Jairus not to tell about him raising their daughter?
- Why was it ok by Jesus for the woman to heal herself by touching his clothes?
- Why did Jesus have all but a few leave the room when He raised the daughter?
