As the Pharisees continue to rise up against Jesus, they challenge him for not following the Jewish tradition of ceremonial cleaning. Jesus counters by pointing out the loss of value they make of God’s laws by favoring men’s traditions. Jesus declares all food as clean during this exchange. A Gentile woman approaches Jesus to have her child healed and Jesus uses the opportunity to begin teaching the disciples who he came to earth for.
