Once again Jesus feeds a multitude of people – this time after teaching them for three days. The Pharisees make another attempt to discredit Jesus by asking for signs. On the occasion of forgetting to bring bread, the disciples confuse that issue with Jesus’ warning about the leaven of the Pharisees. Jesus becomes frustrated at the slowness of the disciples to catch on to who he was despite all the miracles he performed.
