Mark 9 – The Transfiguration and The Greatest
Peter. James and John witness the transfiguration. In the troublesome days that lie ahead, this event was needed to affirm the faith of the disciples. The disciples have a hard time casting out a demon from a child and have to ask Jesus to assist them, then they counsel with him afterward as to why. Jesus again tells them of the coming crucifixion and the disciples would not ask what He meant.
