Mark 10 covers what is known as the Perean ministry or about the last four months of His life. It is the dividing line of the first nine chapters of Mark outlining His public ministry and the last six chapters outlining the week leading up to His crucifixion. This time period is covered in far more detail in Luke (Luke 9:51-19:29) Jesus gave a lot of instruction to the disciples during this time period , perhaps the most important being what it meant to be a minister (servant)
