Paul begins his letter to the Philippian church with a prayer of well-being for the congregation. Even while living in prison awaiting trial, Paul is able to continue preaching and be very effective at saving souls. His imprisonment even helps his cause. Paul expresses his desire to go be with Christ but is more than willing to stay and continue the work he is called to do as long as he is needed. Paul gives encouragement for the suffering they endure in the name of Christ.
