Apparently, the Judaizers have made their way to Philippi and are working on the congregation there. Paul reflects on his own zealous observance of the old law as a Pharisee and now considers it refuse. His whole dependence is now on Christ. Paul gives us a picture of his goal of getting to heaven and wanted to get as many people as he could there with him.
