The church has grown so rapidly that the Apostles time is being spent doing administrative work rather than spreading the Gospel. Seven are selected to take care of these tasks and it works so well the church grows even faster. Stephen, one of the seven, seems to have the same skill as the Apostles in angering the Jewish leaders.

The Jews are upset at the success of the apostles in converting people. 5000 more are recorded after the 3000 on the first day! Peter and John are kept incarcerated over night while the priests try to decide how they are going to handle the situation. We meet Barnabas who just sold some land and gave the money to the apostles for the church’s work.
