The Holy Spirit comes to the twelve in a way that makes it clear that this was a special event. A tongue of fire above their head and speaking so that no matter where one was from, he could understand what was being said. Peter preaches and helps the Jews to see just what they had done to our Lord and exactly what it takes to get remission for our sins.

Acts was accepted from the beginning to have been written by Luke although the author never names himself. The time period between Jesus ascension and Chapter 2, about ten days is covered here. The apostles’ final conversation with Jesus is reviewed and Matthias is selected to replace Judas.
