The Christians in Corinth, as in other cities met in various houses or wherever they could since the church building had not come into use until the third century or so. As a result various factions begin to develop among the groups following the different leaders. Paul desires to reset this attitude and remind them that it is Christ’s church.
v1-9 Paul greets and gives thanks for the church
