Paul sets aside the first day of the week to “give as we have prospered.” The church at Jerusalem was in financial need and Paul was collecting from the churches he visited.

False teaching about the resurrection had crept into the church. Paul lists off the witnesses to it, including the group of 500 and the other apostles. The key point of this chapter is that without the hope of the resurrection, Christianity has no reason to exist or be practiced.
