Today’s Reading: Hebrews 3

The Jews didn’t quite have the correct idea of why Christ came just yet. They were making the mistake of holding up Christ as the executive of the laws given by Moses. The writer here compares Jesus to Moses like the son of the house’s owner is to the servant.
We are reminded of the children of Israel provoking God in their lack of faith and belief. First they wondered in the wilderness for forty years, ultimately never to enter into the Promised Land.
v1-6 Christ contrasted with Moses
v7-19 Be careful to always believe
Review/Study Time
Look back to verses 10-13. This is a stern warning about the danger of falling out of a saved state. Could God’s feelings about our sinfulness be any clearer?
