Today’s Reading: Hebrews 5

The tradition of the high priests placed them into such a high position that many Christians could not resist the urge to continue to follow the old laws the priests continued to enforce. The writer here compares Christ to the priesthood and attempts to show how His office is higher and more compelling to follow.
The church forgetting the basics of Christianity were in need of continually being re-taught; rather that learning more advanced things, rather than being proficient enough to teach, rather than growing, they were returning to the old ways.
v1-10 Christ compared to the priests of Levi
v14-16 Milk of the Word.
