“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf.” (Hebrews 6: 19-20)
Hope! What a word! Life, in order to have real meaning, must be tied to something beyond mere physical existence. Hope is our anchor which is secured in heaven itself, where Jesus has gone “before us.” Martin Luther called “not hope” the two most dreadful words in any language. What breath is to the physical body, hope is to the human spirit.

The moment may be temporary, but the memory is forever. The word “remember” has been described as one of the golden words of religion. The first thing the Lord said to the church at Ephesus, after they had left their “first love,” was “remember”. Remember the way it was! Then, maybe you can recapture what you had. God called the Israelites back to faithfulness by admonishing them to “Look to the rock from which you were cut.” (Isaiah 51:1)

“In the presence of the congregation I will sing your praises” Hebrews 2:12.
Music is the language of the heart. Singing together is a command, a great privilege, a wonderful expression of the heartfelt praise and adoration for God. It has been said to be the “only language in which you cannot say a mean or sarcastic thing.” It washes from the soul the dust of everyday living.

(John 4:35)
In his classic speech, “Acres of Diamonds,” Russell Conwell reminded his audiences that the greatest opportunities often are found in one’s own backyard. He told of a man named Ali Hafed who was so obsessed with the desire to find a diamond mine that he sold his farm and wandered over the world in search of riches until he had lost both his wealth and his life.
The man who bought Ali Hafed’s farm was feeding his animals one day …

One of the most encouraging and rewarding things about the Christian religion is the fact that it is extremely personal. As busy as he was, Jesus was never too busy for the individual. The gospel comes to us as individuals, as well as to the whole world. What difference does the individual make? God’s system is based upon the individual. Harry Emerson Fosdick once put it this way, “It is clearly true that in the long run, everything good or bad depends on the quality of individuals.”
The letters V.I.P. were made familiar during World War II. One given the …
