Today would have been Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday if he were still alive. Many of us are aware of him as the author of the book Origin of Species. However, how many of us are familiar with Sir Francis Galton (seen in the picture to the right), the father of the ideology known as eugenics? This week, my wife Ruth had to go and make some copies of the key to the church building. She came back with an assortment of different designs – one had a cat, one a panda, and one a dolphin. My daughter Kayla and I have been attending the quilting meetings here at the building, and Kayla has been diligently working on her log cabin quilt. She has been receiving a lot of wonderful guidance from some of the ladies involved in the group, and she has becoming more and more skillful with her sewing machine.
