Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? (Proverbs 6: 27-28)

The Power of Our Influence

          As I was sitting drinking my coffee this morning, I realized just how warm the cup was.  It had taken on the temperature of the coffee which it had contained.  Once I had finished my coffee, I sat my cup down as I always do, and in a few minutes, I went to pick it back up to deliver it to the kitchen sink.  Imagine my surprise when I found that the cup was still almost as warm as it had been when the coffee was still within it.

What Makes You Happy?

If we were to ask a random group of people the question “What makes you happy?” we would have an assortment of answers.  Some might say their families make them happy; some their careers, some their money; some their favorite hobbies or activities; but how many would answer that “God makes me happy?”  In contemplating this question, let’s take a look at what the Scriptures say that should make us happy.
