Excellent questions.
I think you are right in that the article would be better worded to reflect that the church and the Kingdom are words that can be used interchangably. One such example is – Kingdom (Matthew 16:19) – Church (Matthew 16:18). However I do believe the event that started the church happened the moment that Jesus died as we see in these two passages – Kingdom – (Revelation 5:9-10) – Church (Acts 20:28). This is much like how a will can be legally executed the day a person dies.

While hopefully we will continue to bring many new Christians into the Kingdom until the judgement day, we do not rely on them being here already to say that the Kingdom is most definitely firmly established right now. This is like saying that Virginia is a state even though all her future residents have not moved in yet.

I was just looking over this article on The Lord’s Prayer and had 2 questions about the statement, “Since we are blessed to be serving the Kingdom established the day Jesus died, praying for it to come is no longer valid.”

My first question is, wasn’t the Kingdom established on the Day of Pentacost instead of the day Jesus died?

My second question is, can it be argued that since people are still coming into the Kingdom by obeying the gospel, that the Kingdom hasn’t come in its fullness? Kind of like a household is established on the day a couple gets married, but hasn’t come into fullness until all the children that couple will have are born.
